UPPER GRADES OVERVIEW
In 6th Grade, students step up to the upper grades program. The philosophy of Saint Joseph Catholic School emphasizes that learning is integrated, experiential, value-based and a foundation for continued and life-long learning. Learning is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth of each unique child.
Beginning in 7th grade and continuing through 8th Grade, students follow a rigorous curriculum in Religion, Language Arts/Literature, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Music, Art, Physical Education and Spanish. Computers are integrated into the curriculum and high school preparation is a focus. Students rotate between classrooms for different subjects.
In 7th through 8th grades, the philosophy of Saint Joseph Catholic School continues to emphasize that learning is integrated, experiential, value-based and a foundation for continued and life-long learning. Learning is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth of each unique child. Junior High students at Saint Joseph Catholic School are model citizens for the entire school and accept many leadership roles. With smaller classes and individualized attention, our students are well prepared for and excel in high school.
In fall 2009, the Poudre School District reconfigured high school to be 9th - 12th grades instead of the existing 10th - 12th grades. Saint Joseph Catholic School switched to a K - 8th configuration instead of the 2008-2009 K - 9 structure. This enabled our students to start high school at the same time as other public school students.
