Chocolate and softball. All of my classmates know that chocolate and softball are my two favorite things in the whole wide world. I bet you a million dollars that nobody would remember that if I went to another school. If I went to another school, I’d probably not have as many friends as I do here at Saint Joseph’s.
The majority of my classmates have been here since Kindergarten. Others, like me, have just tagged along for the ride between 3rd and 8th grade. But, it seems like all of us have been here since Kindergarten. We are all one big family, and that’s my favorite part about Saint Joseph’s.
“What’s your favorite memory of Saint Joseph Catholic School” seems like an easy question. But, in fact, it’s a hard question. There are just so many memories to choose from! From the adventurous Eco Week, to the daily laughs from our class, the memories are countless! I can’t choose just one!
But I have to say, my favorite memory was when I first arrived here for my first day of school in the 3rd grade. My teacher at the time had brought me down to the gym to meet my class. You know how they say first impressions leave a big impact? Let me tell you…it’s completely true. The first greeting I had from my class was from the boys. You know what they said? They groaned and shouted “Aww….not another girl!”
The guys eventually warmed up to me. But from then on, I knew Saint Joseph’s was going to be a good school for me. If a school can give first impressions that are worth keeping in your memories, then it is definitely worthy of attendance.
My least favorite memory of Saint Joseph’s was probably just a couple of months ago. It was the day we all figured out what high schools we were going to. From then on, we all defended our high schools and bad-mouthed the other high schools. I have to admit, I definitely took part in that. Instead of fighting over our high schools, we should have been laughing together and making memories in our last few months together at Saint Joseph’s.
I know I’ll be keeping in contact with fellow teachers and classmates after graduation, but who knows when we’ll be together in one room again?
Junior High has been a fun and eventful time for us ... Most of us are begging to be graduated already, yet others want just one more year to be with friends. In the end, even if you graduate to become a Lambkin, Sabercat, Impala, or Lobo, you’ll always be a Cougar!
Thank you!
