Spanish takes a wholistic approach at Saint Joseph Catholic School, with an emphasis on speaking.
Students begin their Spanish education in Kindergarten. By the time they reach the upper grades, they have progressed to the Paso a Paso series.
Curriculums in the elementary and upper grades feature a variety of activities in addition to the text book, such as singing, games and Spanish prayers.
Highlights of the Spanish year at Saint Joseph Catholic School include celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe in December, and a Spanish market/cafe every other spring. While at the market, students must "negotiate" and order food in Spanish.
Our teachers encourage students to make learning and using Spanish a way of life.
