Saint Joseph's Respect Life Committee
Moument to the Unborn
The Respect Life Committee meets monthly to address life issues from conception to natural death with emphasis on abortion and euthanasia. Related issues such as infanticide, abstinence education, contraception, and natural family planning are also addressed.

The Committee supports the following programs:

  • Birthright - a non-profit agency that provides alternatives to abortion for women who are experiencing difficult pregnancies. National Birthright Organization
  • Spiritual Adoption - a program designed to provide prayer support to the unborn and their mothers. Parishioners "adopt" an unborn baby and pray for the baby and mother for the duration of the pregnancy. At the time the baby is due, the parishioner is asked to bring a present which is given to a Birthright mother. Spiritual Adoption
  • Natural Family Planning - a safe, natural, reliable, and effective form of family planning approved by the Church. Classes are held throughout the year. Natural Family Planning
  • Project Rachel - a diocese-wide program to help Catholics whose lives have been negatively affected by an abortion decision. Call 1-800-332-7262, Ext 135 Project Rachel

The Committee sponsors:

Education programs on the church's teachings and positions on pertinent issues of the day such as living wills, euthanasia, abortion, human sexuality, and family planning.

The Committee maintains information including current books and periodicals on all life issues. This information is available to parishioners upon request.
