EXTRA-ORDINARY MINISTERS 

Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - Saint Joseph Catholic Church - Fort Collins - Colorado - 80521

 

Saint Joseph is always looking for individuals to become Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.* (EMoHC) We are in need of members of Saint Joseph Parish to help with this very important and privileged ministry. Here are some qualifications to be an Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Do you have a devotion to the Eucharist?

Do you make visits to our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration?

Do you believe the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ?

Do you participate in Mass every Sunday and open to participating at Mass on other days of the week? Unless there is a grave/serious reason to miss.

Do you receive the Eucharist only when in the state of Grace? Meaning you have not committed a mortal sin since your last confession.

Do you frequent the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as Confession, or Penance) on a regular basis? Meaning, do you go to confession at least once a month.

If married, were you married in the Catholic Church?

If single, are you living a chaste lifestyle?

Have you received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation?

Do you have a daily prayer life?

Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion first serves the parish gathered for Sunday and weekday Masses and then serves the needs of those who are hospitalized, home bound or are in nursing homes.

*“Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion” is a non ordained person who is mandated by a priest (Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion) to assist him in the distribution of Holy Communion when there are not enough priest available to distribute Holy Communion.
