Saint Joseph's Parish Councils
The Pastor of a Parish must be open to the voice of God's People in the governance of the Parish. This is accomplished through the established Councils that advise the Pastor.

Councils are about....

  • Building up the Church: The Body of Christ
  • Collaborating and consulting
  • Identifying, improving and evaluating the process of becoming a Catholic Christian Community.
  • Exercising shared responsibility and subsidiarity
  • Building the Kingdom of God.... being "peace-bringers" and "justice-doers"
  • Decision making through discernment and consensus

Pastoral Council:

The Council is one of the instruments of the Church by means of which the Holy Spirit working through the Christian faithful renews the pastoral life of the local Church.

The Pastoral Council is a way in which the Christian faithful exercise both their right and responsibility to be fully involved in the life of the Parish.

The purpose of the Pastoral Council is to advise, to assist and to support the Pastor and, through him, the members of his pastoral staff in the accomplishment of agreed upon pastoral objectives.

School Advisory Council:

The Council is established to assist and advise the Pastor and the Principal in the governance of Saint Joseph School.

Finance Council:
The complexity of the modern parish has led the Church to mandate Finance Councils to assist the Pastor in his administrative responsibilities. Church must guide the actions of the Parish Finance Council.
